"I joined the Fernqvist team in May 2010 with 20 years of experience in the label industry. I took a two year break from labels to design swimming pools and have now brought that love of design back to the label industry. I spend several days a week traveling around our Northern California headquarters to visit customers at their locations. I enjoy learning about products that are new to me like printers, ribbon, and ink to build on my existing knowledge about labels. I also love working at our Mountain View headquarters where I can see the day to day details of all our custom production work. "I have been in the label and printer business since 1979 and watched the first thermal transfer printer come on the market. A lot has changed since that time and printing is much easier. Press printing has evolved into fast and easy 7 day turn — around while 29 years ago, it was a seven week wait. My experience has helped me to help the clients that I serve. I do have a lot of knowledge, just from my experience but I sometimes run into new problems that I have never seen before. I will still always go to someone with more experience to get the answer. I have enjoyed fantastic customer relationships over my career and in my 13 years with Fernqvist, I have met and serve many wonderful clients who have been with me for over a decade. I believe that comes from being honest and available. It also doesn't hurt to throw in some humor, once in awhile."

"Experience in the labeling business definitely has its advantages for both seller and buyer. Having done this for a few years now, I feel I’m much better able to find the right fit for customers not only in the look and quality of the label, but also in terms of holding up to whatever environment the labels will be subjected to. All labels, one soon learns, are not created equal. It’s very important to have an understanding of the different stocks, finishes, adhesives, print methods, etc. to help the customer make the right choices for both appearance and durability. Having very capable and experienced people in our prepress and production departments is also a big benefit for all."
